Sandstone Point Hotel

The Sandstone Point Hotel is based opposite Bribie Island and comprises several function rooms, the Oyster Shed ( a seafood lovers paradise ) and a world class restaurant. For the kids there is plenty to do. They can enjoy the Adventure Playground, the Petting Zoo, the beautiful Blue and Gold Macaw that can do up to 50 tricks and much more.

The ice-creamery is a great place to finish off your meal.

We began the day being introduced to the team and took a look at the Cellar Function Room. At the time it was being setup for a wedding event. The brickwork, ambience and bar area was amazing. Every little detail was measured and even the room off to the side was great for a dancefloor, photobooth or DJ.

Going back up the stairs you see the in-hotel store where you can buy wonderful gifts for your loved ones. The imitation flowers really light up the foyer. Next to that is a world class gaming room and sports bar with the Old Oyster Lease photos. Worth a look!

We dined outside undercover and tried 4 different dishes between the 4 of us. Each of them different (seafood, chicken, salad and burger). I can honestly say that the seafood and bacon fettucini was amazing. Thanks!

The Oyster Bar is a great place to chill. The mooring pontoon/jetty allows day trippers with boats to arrive and tie up their vessel. Check with staff if there are any restrictions in place. The produce is sourced locally in Moreton Bay (bugs, crabs, oysters and of course prawns). The prices are very reasonable as well. Visit their website.

The Big 4 Holiday Park

This holiday park is beautiful. It is purpose built and has big rigs/tents/camper trailers in mind. Plenty of room to stretch out without guy ropes overlapping next door’s pitch. The amentities and kitchen areas were top drawer and the pool area has to be seen to be believed. It is honestly resort living at a budget price. They even have a cocktail bar! Sign me up …

Set on the ever-changing waters at the mouth of the Maroochy River – where the ocean ends – our restaurant provides guests with a friendly, relaxed and elegant dining experience featuring the winning trifecta of stunning views, outstanding coastal cuisine and memorable service.

We look forward to welcoming you for a long leisurely lunch, or a shorter fixed price lunch or for dinner with friends, family or loved ones… which should never be rushed!

Ricks Garage

With a history dating back to 1962 when the now loved diner was a local two pump garage and automotive workshop owned by Steve Russ. In 2002, the Garage was purchased by the Jamieson family and rebranded Palmwoods Auto Care.

In the 12 years to follow, husband and wife team, Rick and Lisa toiled hard. Spinning spanners and pumping fuel. Trying their luck at different ventures as the opportunity arose. A convenience store was added to the site as well as a DVD shop and fast food outlet. 2014 was the year their direction changed. New legislation for the sale of fuel meant the bowsers no longer met the environmental standards. Shutting down the businesses primary source of income. Needless to say, it was a testing year for them. Their attention quickly shifted forcing them to focus on other opportunities.

Food and beverage was the fix. They started out selling bacon and egg rolls to Motorbike riders chasing an adventure through the hinterland. As trade grew so did their hours and their offering. In 2016 they found their groove, got a liquor license and tailored the brand to focus on vintage motoring.

Ricks Garage was born.

This ever-evolving Palmwoods licensed Restaurant and Bar is dedicated to delivering a dining experience more than just awesome food and delicious drinks. The now beer garden that runs on the adjacent block was at one time the scrap yard! Littered with car bodies and anything mechanical. Yes, one of the many picking yards for the memorabilia that line the walls today. As one of the busiest venues on the Sunshine Coast employing upwards of 55 permanent and casual staff Ricks Garage is motoring like a dream.

The Surf Club Mooloolaba

Located on the edge of the Pacific Ocean at Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, it’s easy to see why so many people love visiting the Surf Club any time of day. Established in 1922, The Mooloolaba Surf Club is one of the oldest Surf Life Saving Clubs in Australia.

The Surf Club was destroyed by fire in 1979 so when time came to rebuild, the members of the club voted to create a sophisticated world class venue that would take advantage of the position but always retain the essence of what has endearlingly become known as ‘Australian beach culture’, relaxed, informal and fun, we think they achieved the goal, you be the judge!

From morning to night there’s plenty to do. Pop in for a break, enjoy a cappuccino and relax on the deck, or if an ice cold pot of beer or wine is your choice you’ll find a fine selection to meet the occasion. Have a dabble on the Mini TAB or Keno. Join friends on the deck, morning noon or night. There’s live entertainment every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights as well as Sunday afternoons. All this and more is waiting for you at the Surf Club on the deck.
